Albert was born in 1954 in a small village in Harghita County, where he spent his entire life. As a young man he trained as a carpenter, and for more than forty years he worked in his own workshop — building furniture and window frames, now and then carving a toy for a child, always ready to lend a hand when a neighbor needed something fixed. In 1978 he married Erzsébet, and together they raised four children. Over the years the family grew larger still — grandchildren, then great-grandchildren — and every Sunday he sat at the head of the table, telling stories, laughing, enjoying a good meal with the family gathered around him. He loved his garden — tomatoes in summer, the grape harvest in autumn — he loved fishing by the riverbank, and his accordion often made an appearance at family gatherings. Everyone in the village knew him: he always had a kind word for everyone, and he rarely complained about his troubles, preferring instead to lighten the mood with a story. He passed away in 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. His memory lives on in his garden, in the smell of Sunday lunches, and in his stories — those who knew him will never forget his smile.
“The garden begins again every spring — and so does the love we leave behind.”
